Congressman Bryant?

Been thinking again about possibly running for congress. I would probably never win an election but I so much want to help people. It's only four years until I am able to be a representative.

I would need to look up if I would even be able to run because I would not have my 25th birthday until after the election itself. I'm guessing I would be able to. I have to be 25 to serve, not to run and I turn 25 a week later.

Hail Moosiden!

So a bunch of my friends and I play a My Little Pony Pathfinder game every week. This week, we're in the middle of the country next to Equestria trying to find a cure for a party member with horn rot (The GM is following It's a Dangerous Business... so if you've read that fanfic, we're dealing with the Glidale portion).

We have a new player this week who we need to join the party. He's a Multiclassed Ranger/Rogue zebra with a large-size repeating crossbow strapped to his back. The party is in the middle of a battle with a stampede led by this HUGE fucking dragon (we're all level 3 right now).

Our alchemist (me!) is in the middle of preparing this gigantic kegbomb that we are going to drop down the dragon's throat when, out of nowhere, this explosive ballista bolt whizzes past the dragon and embeds itself in the wall we are defending. The fuse is still going so our gunslinger shoots out the flame, but leaves the wick intact. Zartan (the zebra) has a repeating crossbow so the next round he fires it again and does a 19/20 supercrit. Dragon is instantly down 3/4 of it's HP. This is the first attack Zartan ever does in the game.

We drop the kegbomb and it, along with our two moose barbarians, scares the stampede away. Solitare (our gunslinger) manages to hit the dragon in the eyes and I tanglefoot bomb the crap out of him so he can't move. Zartan fires his last ballista shot and takes the jaw off the dragon, killing it.

It took 3 rounds only to kill a fucking red dragon with explosives! And Zartan's backstory is that he hunts dragons and with that 19/20 supercrit he just validated the entire thing. The game tonight was AMAZING!

Marvel's The Avengers

Imagine for a moment, you could read my thoughts while I watched this movie. Throughout the entire 2.5 hours, my brain alternated between two thoughts.

More to come after I see it again and am coherent.

The Hunger Games

"She shot an arrow at your head."

"At the apple."
"Which was next to your head."
When thinking about this review, I have been trying to divorce my preconceived notions from the books in regards to the movie. It didn't really work that well. But I have many feelings; let me 'splain them to you.

The Amazing Spider-Man

Finally watched the new trailer and I am loving it! The had just better kill Gwen somewhere in the reboot. Doesn't have to be in the first movie, but somewhere in the sequels.

And the quipping, OMG, the quipping. He actually is acting like Spider-Man.
"You seriously think I'm a cop, in a skintight, red-and-blue suit?" *webs up thief*
It's looking, well, amazing. I can't wait!

Little House on the Taiga

I've been fiddling with the setting for the novel I've been working on and I think I figured a bit of it out. Manifest Destiny in Czarist Russia for the fist bit. I mean Farrah is already farming at the beginning.

I can have actual court details for the inevitable showdown... This is gonna be awesome!

More to come as I plot it out.

I think I know, now...

I think I finally know, now. I got the idea to look up the Peace Corps about a month ago, and the longer I think about it, the more I research it, I know this is what I’m meant to do.

There has to be a reason why I’m the way I am. Why when most people around here are complaining about the heat, I just shrug and move on. Why, when the news is on, I am so antagonistic towards the ‘in-depth’ reporters when their stories do not have much depth at all. Why I am so interested in anthropology.

I’m meant to help people. I’m meant to go out into the world and try my best to stop it from getting worse. To help reverse the world’s problems as I can. I can see it so clearly now.

I think I finally understand what Susan Cerulean was talking about in that stupid book from Comp 1, now. How an idea can take hold of you, how it can change your entire paradigm. How your life’s work can take hold of you and never let go.

It’s a wonderful feeling. I know, now, and I’ll never let that feeling go.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

I have now seen MLP and I understand what everyone was talking about. The show is AWESOME!

It is annoyingly kiddish but the show isn't half bad. It is about the same as Cardcaptor Sakura at it's most shojo. At least there was no bishie sparkles that I remember.

I look forward to seeing the rest of the show and Season 2.
